Obituary
With our deepest sadness, we announce the passing of Pamela Taormina. After a four-year battle with brain cancer, Pam, passed at ORMC on September 30th, 2019. She will be terribly missed by her family and friends.
Pam was born into a military family in Nuremburg, Germany. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Taormina and their daughter, Justine Taormina. She is also survived by her mother Irene Williams and her brothers Ron and Keith Williams. Pam is predeceased by her father Gordon Williams.
Pam’s early career started in the Army, where she finished as a captain before being honorably discharged. After the Army, she began working as a Human Resources manager for various companies. Later Pam decided to take on the toughest job of all as Mother to Justine, who was adopted from Korea. Pam and Justine have enjoyed many trips together through Justine’s involvement in her high school synchronized swim team.
After Ken’s retirement, the family settled in Winter Park, FL, where Pam was very involved in many activities with the St. Richard’s Episcopal Church and local community. Internationally, Pam was dedicated to bettering the lives of those in Africa by bringing water to 15,000 families in North Central Tanzania and in Uganda, Pam volunteered to bring electric light through solar energy to thousands of schoolchildren and women in childbirth.
Her leisure activities included Pilates, yoga, sewing, playing with her beloved dogs, going to the beach, and traveling the world.
Pam’s celebration of life service will be held Saturday, October 5th, 2019 at 4pm at St. Richards Episcopal Church in Winter Park. Address below:
