Pat DiLeva, of Hacienda del Rio, Edgewater, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2010, with his family by his side. Pat was born in Schenectady, New York on February 15, 1926. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from August 1943 to January 1946. Pat participated in the invasions of Saipan and Tinlan. During his tour in Saipan he became Marine Corps Welter-Weight Boxing Champion. Pat began his career with the Schenectady Police Department in 1954 where he rose to the rank of sergeant. He retired from the Police Department in 1974. Pat and his lovely wife Charlotte (Shots) then relocated to Edgewater FL in 1980, where he began working for the City of Edgewater as Code Enforcement Officer. After retiring from the the City of Edgewater, Pat and Shots moved to Hacienda delRio where he served as Chief of Security until 2009. Pat was an extremely athletic individual participating in his early years in football, baseball and golf, then after moving south took up softball, tennis and umpiring youth baseball. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family, photographing his family and friends, and going out dancing. Pat is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 62 years Charlotte Black DiLeva. He is survived by his son Patrick DiLeva, daughters Patty Gleeson, Kelly DiLeva, Terry DiLeva, son-in-law Stu Kaplan, seven grand children, six great grand children and several nieces and nephews.
