    I met Patty when she started teaching biology at Herndon High School in Virginia in 1969. She was a dynamic and much respected teacher. I saw her only sporadically after I left Herndon, but she was ever the enthusiastic and engaging individual. I just learned of her passing and am sorry her life was shortened. Rest assured that her contribution to younger generations was significant. RIP.
