Obituary

Patricia Ann Hagle of Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021. She was 72 years old. She was born on October 9, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Putnam John Condon and Mary Rita (Kopp) Condon.

Patricia had worked as a graphic designer and as head of typesetting for Publications International in the Chicago area. She loved visual arts and crafting, including drawing, painting, knitting, and crocheting, as well as quilting and stained glass. In recent years, she was especially drawn to quilting, and before her death, had just finished a new original art quilt in mixed media, called “Welcome Home”, which is exhibited at Shell Point’s Tribby Arts Center. She was a lover of cooking and organizing recipes, and a lifelong learner of the guitar, who passed her love of music along to her children and grandchildren.

She was a resident of Shell Point Retirement Community, where she was part of the Quilter’s Club and participated in book clubs. For many years she was a proud and active member of the “Wild Bunch”, a Chicago Cubs fan club.

She is survived by her children, Matthew (Mio), Mara (Scott Ventura), and Jesse (Natalie Selk); brothers, Thomas, Joseph, and James; sisters, Margaret, Sue, Elizabeth, and Janet and grandchildren Tara, Tristan, Ian, Heather, and Elizabeth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Putnam and Mary Condon, her brother Robert and her beloved dog, Meatloaf.

Pat was a quiet person who disliked fuss and drama in her own life but was a sympathetic and attentive listener to other people and their problems. She was a wonderful grandmother who loved to create projects and activities for her grandchildren. Pat had a love of learning new skills and subjects and had a gentle sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida:  https://harrychapinfoodbank.org/

A memorial celebration of her life is planned for later in the year, in the Chicago area.
