Obituary
Patricia Kelly Shumpert, age 54, of Ocala, FL, passed away peacefully on March 30th at Hospice of Marion County’s Estelle’s House with her sons and mother by her side. Patricia or as friends called her, Trish, was born on July 27, 1968, in Patchogue, NY. She loved to express herself through color, whether that be her nails, hair, or makeup – she was always bright and glowing. Trish was a strong and selfless woman who endured many triumphs in life but overcame them all. She enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music (preferably Billy Idol & Cyndi Lauper), and writing poems. Her family and friends will always remember her as a genuine and loving person who was unapologetically herself.
Patricia is survived by her significant other and best friend of 30 years, Steve Vealey; her five sons, Darrell (Rebecca) Vealey, Harlley (Kara) Shumpert, Matthew Vealey, Christopher Vealey, and Stephen (Tiffany) Vealey Jr; thirteen grandchildren; her mother, Pat Japart; two brothers Tony (Adrienne) Pellegrino and Tino (Stephanie) Pellegrino; and three sisters, Marie Pellegrino, Gina (Harry) Doyle, Luanne Pellegrino, and Bobbijo Japart).
A visitation will be held on April 15th,10:00 AM with a service to follow at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home. The family would like to thank everyone for all the love, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time.
