Obituary
Patricia Martha DuBois McCowen, age 73, of Homosassa, FL,
passed peacefully holding the hand of her Husband of 54 years after a long battle of many health issues on September 16th, 2024 and went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born on June 9, 1951 to William and Barbara DuBois in Batavia, NY. In her early years Pat worked at Sylvania, GE and Black&Decker. Tiring of factory jobs, Pat decided to get her GED, put herself through college to obtaining a nursing degree with a 4.0. She worked tirelessly all while raising a family and maintaining a full time job. Pat started on the floor at Strong Memorial Hospital and worked her way to becoming a nurse manager of Strong Memorial and Highland Hospitals dialysis units. Some of her passions in life were Girl Scouts, Cub/Boy Scouts & Explorer leader. She loved, humming birds, camping, canoeing, sewing, going to flea markets collecting decorations to put in the yard and her dogs Odie, Maggie and Bo. Pat and her husband found Calvary Church in Inverness, FL. Committing fully to Christ. She loved her church and enjoyed the food pantry/sewing ministries. Pat absolutely loved being part of sewing blankets for foster children of the Foster Care Ministry. Her truest passions in life were her husband- her best friend, family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Matthew Dubois Sr, sister in law Gloria Mckenzie, and nephew Matthew Dubois Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband Roger McCowen. Brothers, William (Kim) DuBois, Paul DuBois. Sister In Law, Kathy DuBois. Children, Barbara (Ronald) Zalar, Paul ( Rebecca) McCowen, Jacob (Amy) McCowen, Sarah (AJ) Cuttcliffe. Grandchildren, Katelin Zalar, Ronald(Sarah List) Zalar, Konnor ( Megan) McCowen, Kristopher (Elyse VanAuken) McCowen, Joshua McCowen, Nicholas Weber, Landon McCowen, Kaylub McCowen, Zachary McCowen, Emma McCowen, Aubrey McCowen, Alex McCowen, Olivia McCowen, Ethan McCowen and Amelia McCowen. Great grandchildren Peyton Conner and Bryson Diehl. Several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday September 22nd at 2:30 PM. 2728 East Harley St. Inverness, FL 34453. At a later date to be determined by the family, there will be a celebration of life in New York for family and friends.








God Bless Pat she’s no longer suffering but leaves all of you and us feeling sad but blessed she was part of our lives.
