Patrick Joseph Madden passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 12, 2024. Patrick was born in Chelmsford Essex, England on December 2, 1939.
Patrick’s parents were born in Ireland and came to Cleveland, Ohio in 1954. Patrick grew up during WWII outside of London with his brother Mike and survived the bombing and shelling of Chelmsford. He learned to be courageous and resourceful during these difficult times. Patrick arrived in the US in 1954 where his love of automobiles flourished. He received his racing license from the Sports Car Club of America and raced at numerous tracks around the country, assisted by his pit crew, Leia. Patrick has two daughters from his first marriage, Victoria and Stacy. Patrick married the love of his life, Leia, in 1982, and together raised their son, Patrick, in Bay Village, Ohio. He was also a wonderful stepfather to John and Maria. Patrick received his Bachelor of Science Degree at David M. Myers College in 1999 while working at PPG Industries as an Engineer. He retired to Florida in 2004 and designed and built a house as a love letter to his wife, Leia, on the shore of the Manatee River in Palmetto, Florida. Patrick touched so many with his kind soul, sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile. He has left a rich legacy having 3 children, 2 stepchildren, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

The world has lost a wonderful gentleman. Patrick, you are alive and well in our hearts and in the memories that belong to each and every person you shared a moment, a laugh, a beer, and a story with. I wish we could have more of them, but we are grateful for you and for the example of a loving and caring life with Leia and your family.
    Missing you now and always!
