Obituary
On June 25, 2021, surrounded by her family and friends, Patty Jo Bennett passed away peacefully to be with the Lord.
The daughter of the late Sybil & Tate Shafer, & Roy Jarvis, born in Elkview, West Virginia on November 25, 1939.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband; Benny, sons; Paul & David, as well as her grandson, Ryan. She is survived by five children: Cheryl, Danny, Gene, Tommy, & Ronda, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many, many family members and friends.
She was 81 years old. Patty was well-loved in both places she considered home, South Charleston, West Virginia & New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Patty was the mother of 7 children. Despite her large family, Patty always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She worked tirelessly to provide opportunities and a better life for her kids. She would proudly boast about all of her grandchildren and their accomplishments.
Patty loved bluegrass music & festivals, going to dinner with friends and family, watching Mountaineer football, camping, and her many pets. She had a kind and giving nature that enacted her to take great care of others. Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing that Patty is together again with those she has lost.
A celebration of life is being hosted on July 24th and family will be in touch for those who would like to memorialize Patty.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospitals as she was an avid supporter of the work they do.
