Obituary

Paul Henry Chipok, 66, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away on September 4, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on July 27, 1958, in Bergenfield, NJ, to Henry and Stella Chipok (both deceased), Paul spent his life enriching the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Rita Chipok; their daughter Angela (Joshua) Melchiorri; and his cherished granddaughters, Morgan and Stella. Paul also leaves behind his brothers Andrew (Bernadette) Chipok and Robert Chipok, along with many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Raymond.

Paul pursued his passion for law with dedication, studying political science at Rutgers University before earning his J.D. from Pepperdine School of Law. He moved to Florida in 1984 and built a distinguished career, practicing law with the local government and private sector for 40 years.

Outside of his professional life, Paul found joy in traveling with friends, attending concerts, fishing, and relishing morning sunrises at the beach. His love for the Grateful Dead and his ever-present Grateful Dead t-shirts were a testament to his vibrant spirit.

Paul will be remembered for his infectious smile, kind heart, and the warmth he brought to those around him. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on September 28, 2024 from 1-5pm at The Grand 721, located at 721 Palmetto Street, New Smyrna Beach, Fl 32168.

I first met Paul when I started working with him at the Orange County Attorney's Office 25 years ago. Then Larry and I met Rita a few months later and they became treasured friends. Paul was a valued colleague and he and I often sought each other's counsel on legal issues. He was a skilled lawyer, but more importantly, he was a genuinely good man. Larry and I will miss him, but we feel so fortunate to be among his friends and to have so many good memories. Our hearts break for Rita and the rest of Paul's family. Rest in peace.

To The Family of Paul Chipok- with deepest sympathy, I wish to extend my sincere condolences
in your loss of Paul. I worked with Paul for many years in his capacity as an Orange County Attorney, and mine overseeing County Zoning&Code Enforcement. I could always count on Paul to give professional and solid legal advice in the various issues we encountered. Aside from that, he was just a great person to work with and be around. My prayers are with you-the family, and take comfort that Paul is resting peacefully in his Heavenly Home
