Our family celebrated the life of my Dad this weekend .. what a sweet time we had together as we laughed and cried while sharing our fondest memories of him, sang his favorite hymns, read favorite scripture verses, and ate his favorite Sonny's meal. He was an amazing father, husband, grandpa and great grandpa! Dad was a faithful man, a prayer warrior, and one who dedicated his life to ministering to children. Whether in the classroom or junior church, he taught with passion and made each child feel valued and loved. He deeply loved his family ... his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought so much joy to his life! Dad and Grandpa will be greatly missed but our hearts are full of peace and joy knowing we have the wonderful hope of seeing him again for all of eternity! John 14:1-6

Whenever I see pictures of Uncle Paul and his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, I can 't help but think of Father Abraham! What a legacy and incredible Christian heritage!

I often wonder how Uncle Paul survived in a home with Aunt Lois and 3 rambunctious girls - we always had great times with my cousins! Such a godly man who impacted so many children thru his lifetime of ministry, administration and teaching. The words to "Thank you for Giving to the Lord" are incredibly relevant and I can't imagine the reception that Uncle Paul is enjoying in heaven! Well done, good and faithful servant!

Mr. Yates modeled Christ-like love and faithful service for so many people. I will always cherish the memories of being in children's church with him: the bible drills, stories, and the occasional treats with a movie. Can't wait to see you again in heaven.

Mr. Yates was such a blessing to me as a boy. I know countless others had the same experience. Through his teaching, the Bible came alive, and much of the Scripture I’ve memorized is because of those Bible drills. He will be missed but I know our Heavenly Father welcomed him home as a faithful servant. Thank you for your faithfulness and godly example Mr. Yates!

  5. Kirsten Meberg says:

I am one of the many children Mr. Yates lovingly and faithfully taught in Junior Church. Things he said then have changed the course of my Christian walk and my life today! He has fought the good fight, he has finished the race... so thankful and blessed to have known him, and looking forward to seeing him again! Lots of love and prayers for you and the family, Mrs. Yates!

Lois, we love you and are praying for you. Paul is now singing and rejoicing around the throne. To be absent from the body is to be present with his precious Lord. Dick and Marlene

Les & I only knew Paul and Lois a short time, but he was a Godly man and we send our regards to ALL the family. May God bless you and keep you and pour out His great peace and comfort during this time. Blessings to all! II Thessalonians 1: 16-17 "Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word."
