Obituary
Paul L. Young, 80, of Ocala, FL passed away at home on Tuesday June 11, 2024 peacefully in his sleep.
Paul was born in Indianapolis on December 10, 1943, to Bernard and Marie (Grove) Young and was the youngest of three boys. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. Throughout his career, Paul worked as a Corporate Energy Manager in the Super Market industry for companies including A&P, Penn Traffic, Tyler Refrigeration, and Bilo. He retired to Ocala, FL with his companion, Janice Baird (Lavonia, GA), in 2020.
Paul had a spirit of adventure. He loved people and the outdoors. He enjoyed working in the yard, boating, fishing, and camping. He was well known for his jokes and making people of all ages smile. No one was a stranger to him.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Paul is survived by his four daughters, Twila Griffis, Eva Young, Dotty Perez, Shelly Bissinger, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernard, his mother, Marie, and brothers, Jim and Mike.
A Memorial Service will be held at Olivet Baptist Church, 8495S Magnolia Avenue, Ocala, Florida, 34476. It will be on Saturday, June 22nd at 1:00 pm with a gathering to follow at the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Olivet Baptist Church in his name.
