Obituary

Paula “Poo” Jean Chiano White, 57, of Deltona, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Advent Health Fish Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

On Feb 18,1966, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, James and Pauline Chiano welcomed Paula into this world. In 1982, the Chiano family relocated to Florida.

Paula graduated from DeLand High School in 1984 and went on to work at the Daytona News Journal for many years. She met the great love of her life, Steven C White, in high school and they married in 1987. Paula always called Steve her hero.

Paula loved a hot cup of coffee, fresh manicure, an afternoon out on the boat with her husband, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family could always count on her to crack a joke and bring a smile to the room.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 37 years, Steven C. White, 2 sons, Steven C. White Jr and wife Ashley of Deltona, Vincent M White and wife Megan of Mt. Plymouth, 3 beautiful grandchildren, Carter, Declan and Madelyn, brother John Salamone of DeLand, In-Laws, Sharon and Mike Koenig of DeBary, long time friend Amy Edgecomb along with many great friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paula was proceeded in death by her mother, father, and her sister, Corleen Miller.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held  Saturday, September 16 at 11 AM at The Deltona Christian Church, 960 E Normandy Blvd., Deltona, FL 32725.  Officiant will be Rev. James C Steele.

    Paula's obit all I kept thinking her name was Caleen.

    My sincere condolences for the loss of Coleen. I met her when she was just a child.
    I am the niece ofJames Chiano.
    I occasionally look up my family's obits and came across Coleen. She looks just like when I met her those many years ago.
    My name is Donna and I am the daughter of Dominic brother to James. I called him uncle Jimmy.
    He loved to sing and entertain the family. I am very sorry for your loss.
