Mom: It has been almost 3 years since God took you to heaven. I know that you know I pray for you every morning and think of you always.
I try very hard to be to Willow what you were to Ashley. Always there and always loving, supportive and understanding. She just turned 5 and is full of spunk and sass and non-stop action. :) I bake Jeff his birthday pies every year like you used to do. I get Dad and Jeff their easter jelly beans and celebrate our December Birthday with Paul, always lighting a candle for you. Your gardenia bush is amazing and Dad is not letting anyone trim it except for him so it blooms more beautiful with each passing year. Some days I feel your presence and others not so much.
Thank you for being the best and most loving woman I have ever known. I am a much better person having had you as my mom and role model. Love, Lisa

    Mom,

When I think of you, I think of the nicest, caring, and patient person I have ever known. On top of that, you happen to be my mom. I have already won the lottery in my mind. I will miss so many things about you, mostly your weekly phone calls while I was traveling and our Sunday conversations before dinner. I am a better person because of you. In the end, I am honored to be your son. What a wonderful life you have had and have provided for everyone in this family. You have provided an everlasting legacy. Rest in peace.

    Love you,

    Jeff

It was an honor to know such a beautiful woman. I had the pleasure of spending many years with Poly during Ashley and my daughter Ashley’s school years. We would alternate pick up days from school and take the girls home for snacks, playtime and homework. I knew when Polly had my daughter she was loved as if she were her own. Always kind l, compassionate, and loving. She will be missed dearly. My heart goes out to everyone who knew her and loved her as much as I did. Thank you Lisa and Ashley for allowing me to be part of this extraordinary woman’s life. God Bless❣️

    Aunt Polly,

I don’t know if there are enough words to describe someone who was always there for me. All of the phone calls, dinners, bday gifts and cards, and opening up your home for me to spend the night. Moving to Florida was made much easier knowing I had family so close. Your kindness, compassion, and selflessness will always be appreciated. I know what I will miss most is our after dinner conversations while enjoying coffee and dessert. Thank you Aunt Polly for simply being you- an amazing person whose wonderful qualities are reflected in all of your family. My Uncle Paul, my cousins Lisa, Jeff, Ashley, Paul and Willow. I love you and will always miss you ❤️

Aunt Polly, I have such sweet memories of you and Uncle Paul (and my cousins Lisa and Jeff of course) over the years from trips to Maryland, visits in Weirton, my 4th grade trip to FL where we stayed at your house, and my 2 years living in Florida as an adult Many great memories of you (you reminded me of my Grandma Townsend who you emulate) at different family events with my dad (Harry/Butch) and my uncles (Sonny and Donny).

As the youngest of our cousin generation I was always made to feel special by Aunt Polly, and I can't remember your ever being anything other than kind, to anyone. Aunt Polly sent me cards for every birthday I think for the past 25 years? and various cards to my kids and wife the last 10. I am a bit saddened that she never had a chance to meet my kids in person, but am thankful that my wife Dana did get to spend a few weekends with her and experience her essence. There are not many people like my Aunt Polly, just kindness to the core, I always felt so special and loved in her presence, even with years gone by between visits. RIP and love to Uncle Paul, Lisa, Jeff and all the kids and family back there, Love Tom

My sweet, sweet Grammy- you were a treasure like no other. You loved each one of us fiercely and we knew it. You were someone we could always count on and always made things seem better. I am forever lucky to have had so many wonder memories, laughs and hugs from you. I am a better person because of you. You always emulated kindness, honesty, and compassion. You loved each one of us even during the times we should have been unlovable and you did so with a smile on your face and a warm hand. You were small, but boy were you mighty and when it came to your family you protected us like a mama bear. I could never find cards at mother's day that described what you meant to me with the word grandmother on it so I often got you mom cards because those made the most sense. You were my second mommy. There will not be a day that goes by that I do not think of you with love. I am so very sorry you had to go through these last 6 months with so much loss and suffering. I always told you, "you are driving the bus Gram" and I truly believe you made the decision to go home and for that I cannot be angry. For you would never be angry with us, no matter what our choices were. I love you to the moon and am so very honored to be a Meredith, your granddaughter, and to have had the time you spent with our Willow. Thank you for being you, our forever treasure. I love you.

    Love,
    Ash
