Obituary

On Thursday, 05-16-2024, Peggy Ann Burlingame passed peacefully to be re-united with her husband Roy in Heaven.  Peggy and Roy were married for 54 years.  Peggy was born in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Kathryn and Frank Bloomfield.  Peggy was the youngest of 3 daughters.  Her sisters Libby and Carmen proceeded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Tamra as well as 4 grandchildren (Jonathan David, Victoria Elizabeth, Eric Andrew Thomas and JoDee Caroline) and 5 great grandchildren (Chase, Kaelynn, Deavon, Shay and Kaiden).

Peggy married Roy in 1967.  She loved people, especially children, and  became a school crossing guard where she served for many years. She also taught Sunday School for over 40 years.  Everyone enjoyed her courteous manner and infectious smile.

After Roy retired from Ford, they moved to The Villages where they lived for over 20 years.  Their favorite pastime was eating out at all the local restaurants.  Both were very well known at Cracker Barrel, Perkins, McDonalds and Bob Evans and will be missed by all the friends and employees there.  When Peggy sold the house and moved to an apartment in Oxford, the stove had never been used in over 20 years and even had the instruction manual inside.  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Crematory Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.  Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com.

Peggy was the sweetest lady I've ever met. She was so kind to everyone. She could brighten your worst day in one minute. Recently, I was in the back of Walgreens and up front I heard her sweet voice comforting someone. I knew it had to be her and it was! We embraced and that is the last time I saw her. Fly high, Peggy, now all your days will be bright! XoXo Jean Dorrell
