Obituary
Peter Andrew Winokur, 34, passed away suddenly at his home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on Sunday, January 8th, 2023.
Peter was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 18, 1988, to Richard and Kim Winokur, nee Carter.
He had an adventurous spirit. From childhood, he grew to have an intense love of life and people. Daily he sought friendships. He loved cars, music, and especially his family. One of his favorite past times was to breakdance – it was then that he felt the most free. He was always honing this craft and was quite a good dancer. He will always be remembered for dressing in his unique style.
Peter was mechanically inclined and was always working to get the latest electronic gadgets. He was, also, always excited to order new accessories and try them out.
He had a heart for others. His biggest joy was when he was able to help someone else. Peter had such a friendly personality and was the type that would give you the shirt off of his back and whatever he had in his pocket if he thought you needed it. He had an incredibly kind and generous spirit. For example, as a young child in school, he would often buy lunch for his peers if he thought they needed it. Peter’s heart and spirit were bigger than this world.
He is preceded in death by his father Richard Ira Winokur, uncle Peter Michael Winokur, paternal grandparents, Pauline Winokur and Samuel Winokur, and maternal grandfather Henry McCoy Carter, Sr.
He is survived by his mother Kim (Cary) Winokur-Fields, twin sister Samantha Lawrie Winokur, sisters Heather Lynne (James) O’Donnell, and Robyn Constance (Matthew) Biggers. Maternal grandmother, Andrea Nickels (Nickie) Carter, stepbrothers, Justin Casey and Cody Thomas Fields, step-sister, Ryan Kathleen Callahan. Nieces, Peyton Lynne and Avery Anne Biggers, Madeline Jordan Reese O’Donnell, and Savannah Carter Winokur. Nephew, Dylan Aiden Max O’Donnell, Aunts, Bonni Ansley, Andrea Deloach. Uncles, McCoy Carter, Jr. and Roman (Serenity) Carter as well as former brother-in-Law Brandon Bing. He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
His faith in Jesus is an enormous comfort to all those who loved him. He is at peace and resting in the arms of the Lord. We know that he was met with open arms by his heavenly father. Peter will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. We will miss the person he was and who he was to become.
