Obituary

Peter Blue Brandt of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Saturday, 1-8-2022 in Cape Coral. Pete was born in Ames, lowa on 7119131. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon and two daughters, Lisa Cobian (Ricky) and Kristen Brandt. He had 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all residing in Oregon. LTJG Peter Brandt started his career as an aircraft assembler for Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corp. He attended lowa State College as an NROTC student, received commission and BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He attended classes at George Washington University and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He proudly served aboard the battleship USS lowa as 5th Div. Offlcer, S-inch battery officer and underway OOD. He also taught Marine Engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. He went on to a distinguished career in the aerospace industry at Chance Vought Aircraft in Dallas, Texas and TRW Space Systems in Redondo Beach, California. At TRW he met Sharon. ln 2003 after they both retired, they relocated from California to Florida via an adventurous journey driving across the country in their motor home with their 6 dogs.
A celebration of his life and military honors will be on Friday 1-28-2022, ’12:30 pm at the Diplomat Wesleyan Church, ‘1833 Diplomat Pkwy., Cape Coral. His ashes will be scattered in the Gulf.
Patriot Pete’s burning passion was to keep our country Constitutionally stable. ln lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to a reputable Republican entity.
Pete was very active in the community and belonged to numerous organizations, i.e. U.S. Power Squadron, Cape Coral Elks Lodge #2956, Eagles, SW FL Military Museum, Cape Coral Republican Club, Lee County Republican Executive Committee, BUPAC, to name a few. ln 2007 he was
elected to the Cape Coral City Council representing District 2.
