Obituary

Phyllis Evelyn Rohrecker was born on August 5, 1931 in Jamaica Queens, New York to parents Louis C. and Evelyn Schlegel. She passed at home in Ormond Beach with her daughter by her side and holding her hand on Friday, March 12, 2021. Her husband of 70 years, Warren Rohrecker, who passed away in 2019, was there to greet her and escort her to Heaven.

Phyllis worked in the Hauppauge school district in New York in the school cafeteria. She was known as the kind and generous “mom” to all the kids at the school, always making sure they had enough to eat and looking out for them. She loved working at the school. Phyllis also loved diamonds and her jewelry. She had the best time when she and her husband Warren would travel the world. They would do everything together, including going to car shows and car auctions. She was happiest when spending time with Warren, her ‘partner in crime’ and the love of her life.

Phyllis is survived by her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as Warren’s lap cat, Harley. Phyllis is dearly loved by her family and friends and she will be greatly missed. Her family is comforted knowing she is with Warren again, and she is riding next to him in a convertible, toothpick in his mouth and a scarf on her head whipping in the wind, as they drive up to the gates of Heaven.

I am very sorry to hear of your moms passing, myself and my wife Tina have many fond memories of vacation dinners and spending time with both your parents at the salvage yard. They were a pair, sincerely Gerald Drake Jr
