Obituary
Phyllis Washington, 1940-2024, was born and raised in Queens, New York. She was the first born of 4, and as such looked out for the other 3. She was such a good daughter and older sister.
She loved handball, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, music, crocheting, travel, all things cats and bowling. She loved to read James Patterson books. When she got her first apartment, that was when she got the first cat of many. And it was that way ever since.
She last worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in HR claims. The job was most enjoyable, but when a buyout package came along, she took it and didn’t look back. Well over 30 years ago, she moved to Florida with her male companion. It was the one and only time living outside New York.
Phyllis’s life in Florida was relatively quiet. Her last living hours were spent in the ER of Advent Daytona Hospital. Could not ask for a more caring, attentive, kind staff. That was God gently allowing her peace to exhale.
So sorry - my correction!

Phyllis and I were like sisters. We were teenagers, young mischievous adults and adult friends always!
