Obituary
RALPH CHARLES GEORGE, 76, of Titusville, Florida, formerly of Buckingham, Pennsylvania, departed this life on January 16, 2022, at his home with his wife and eldest daughter by his side. Ralph was born January 17, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Violet (Kopp) and Ralph Emmet George. Ralph attended the Neshaminy School District in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, until his Junior Year of High School, when he moved to Germany with his family for military service. Ralph graduated from Nurnberg American High School in Furth, Germany, in 1962 and returned stateside and attended Camden County Vocational & Technical School in New Jersey, where he trained to become a tool and die maker, and he reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Gwen, whom he married in 1964, and together had three children.
Ralph was employed for over 45 years at Berger Brothers (a manufacturer of building products) as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2012, also acting as the Teamsters Union Shop Steward for decades, as he loved a good argument. As their children were growing up, the family always enjoyed camping, and after the children got older, Ralph and his wife upgraded to a 5th wheel camper and enjoyed traveling on their own and with RV Groups. In 1998, they purchased an RV lot in The Great Outdoors Resort in Titusville, Florida, and used it for the winter months until 2016, when they built a home in The Great Outdoors, where they have resided for the past 5 years.
Ralph loved sports his entire life, having played sports since high school and through his adult years. He ran his Bowling League in Pennsylvania as League Secretary for 42 years. He bowled a 300 game and had a 660 series at one time and the bowling pin from that game sat on his fireplace hearth for years as one of his proudest moments. He organized and ran an “Over 35” softball league for many years and was the Captain and statistics keeper of his “Buckingham Bunch” Team, as he loved statistics; he played golf and basketball and coached his children’s sports teams. He had many golfing trips out West with his golf buddies. Since their residency in The Great Outdoors, Ralph was an avid poker, pinochle and bridge player with many different friends.
Ralph is survived by his wife and best friend of 57 years, Gwendolyn F. (Hanson) George, two daughters, Denise Wenhold (Keith), of Telford, Pennsylvania, and Donna Guinther (Wally) of Souderton, Pennsylvania; a son, David George (Sandra) of Jamison, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his parents, and brother, Eugene George.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Ralph’s Life on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 2400 S. Washington Avenue, Titusville, Florida.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be made in his memory for the extraordinary care and compassion he received from Hospice of St. Francis, 1250 Grumman Place, Titusville, FL, 32780, and no flowers be sent.
