Obituary

Ralph N. Powers, 95 passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023. He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Robert and Minerva (Mickle) Powers and has been a resident of Venice, Florida for the past 28 years.  He was a proud WW2 era veteran and meteorologist with the Air Force who retired as a MSGT after 22 years of service.  He loved his family, country and golf.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Gloria Powers, daughter and Son-in-law, Cheryl and Dennis Rose, Daughter and Partner Aline Read and Michael L’Heureux, Son Ralph Powers, Jr., step daughter and husband Marilyn and Donald Putnam, stepdaughter and husband Carole and Jim Granfield, and stepdaughter Alyce Zepf.  He leaves behind grandchildren Scott Rose, Matthew Rose, Dennis Rose Jr., Ashley Rideout, Andrew Read, Ryan Read, Jessica Prudhomme, Daniel Putnam, Brian Putnam, Kevin Granfield, Olivia Maal, and Alex Maal. He also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren: Benjamin, Isaac, Emma, Marlee, Crue, John, Eva, Jack, Thomas, and Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis and daughter Lisa. He will be sorely missed. A private service will be held at a later date. Instead of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Tidewell Hospice House.
