Obituary

Lifelong area resident Randy Johnson, 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a courageous three year battle with cancer on November 28, 2014. Randy was born at Halifax Hospital and attended St James School and Seabreeze High School. Randy was an avid golfer and began playing at the age of six, winning many junior golf tournaments and later played as a pro on the PGA mini tour. He enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises with his family. He was a loyal and loving husband, father and grandfather. Randy was preceded in death by his father Richard Johnson, mother Laurie Fitzgerald, brother Andy and sister Sandy. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Sherry and four children Kimberly Morgan (Mike), Stacy Wagner (Tony), Edward Lyons and Catherine Lyons. He adored his six grandchildren William, Ashley, Sean, James, Dylan and Carlito. He is also survived by his step-mom Gail Johnson, brothers Jack (Tammy), Kelly, Teddy (Kathy) and sister Wendy (Greg) and many nephews and nieces. A Life Celebration will be held at a later date.

    I am sad that my Dad was taken away from us at a young age.This man had taken on a lot with four children.I must say he did a damn good job for what he was given.Then the grandkids came and lighted up his life.PaPa was his name now and they pretty much got everything they asked for.I will always and forever miss him and always hold a place in my heart for the best husband, friend,PaPa,and my favorite MY DAD.

    I am extremely sad to hear of my cousin Randy's passing. He was always extremely kind and generous to everyone, and a protective older cousin to me when I was a teen.My deepest condolences go out to Sherry and the rest of the family.

    Randy was an amazing man when he fell in love with my sister he took on her 4 children that were young at the time. He was a great access in helping raise her children and then the grandkids he took on as his own no questions. I always admired him and loved to visit them when I could. My heart bleeds for my sister and her family and for Randy’s family. May you rest in peace Randy you will truly be missed. I will always hold on to the memories I have with you and my sister.
