Ray Ante, 83, of The Villages, Florida completed his life journey peacefully in the Cornerstone Hospice in Lady Lake FL on November 28, 2014 with family members by his side. He was born in Cambridge, Ma the son of late Lorenzo and Natalina (Ferrante) Antetomaso. Ray served in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon return to the USA, he settled down in the suburbs of Boston and earned a degree in Mechanical Design Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He completed his engineering career as a consultant with Data Instruments before retiring to Florida. While living in The Villages, he was an avid Boston sports fan, bridge player and gardener. He was known as the neighborhood Italian cook, sharing his culinary creations with neighbors and friends.
Ray is survived by his beloved friend June Bennett of The Villages; his children, Ray V. and wife Tracey of Uxbridge, MA; Nancy (Ante) Savini and husband William of Epping, NH; Gino and wife Caren of Milford, MA; his grandchildren, Sarah, Haley, Amanda and Sal Ante; his sisters, Rosina, wife of Cosmo Laberinto of Middleboro, MA; and Josephine, wife of the late Al Basso of Medford, Ma. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother Charles Antetomaso.
A memorial service will be held at Tierra del Sol Restaurant, The Villages on Wed, Dec 3rd at 12:00pm. He will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL in late December.
