Obituary
Raymond Robert Combs (Bob) of Summerfield FL, passed away on July 13 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents Arlene and Raymond, sister Joanne, first wife Julia and son Gregory (Micheline).
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Bob loved to dance, bowl, play tennis and golf but he was best known to his family as a singer for his deep baritone voice. Before joining the Fountain Singers, he was a member of the Dayton Boys Choir, and sang at various churches, events, and shows throughout his life most recently being his granddaughter’s wedding. Most days, he could be heard whistling around the house to the tune of his own version of a Frank Sinatra song.
Bob graced many lives with his kindness, sense of humor and humble demeanor. He attended Bowling Green State University and received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration before joining the military and serving in the army. He worked in the home building business before becoming a financial advisor for over 30 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marci, daughter Leslie Russ (Andrew), sons Geoffrey Combs (Laurel), Robert Combs (Angie), Clark Combs (Renee), grandchildren Erika Stoike (Jamie), Kylie Russ, Stephanie Holcomb (Zachary), Isabel Combs, Michael Pollard, Christopher Combs, Mellissa Harle (Matthew), Johnny Combs, great grandchildren Aillee and Lola Holcomb.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children or Shriners Children hospital.
