Obituary

Born on December 15, 1919, Ray and his wife, Dora retired to Edgewater, Florida in 1984 from a 5 year work assignment to Israel. He served in the Army Air Corps WWII ETO. He was a field service engineer for Boeing, McDonnell, and then McDonnell Douglas for 45 years. Ray was a member of the American Legion Post #0200 in Coffeyville, Kansas for 46 years; the Masonic Lodge AF & AM #303 of Wichita, Kansas for 57 years; The Elks Lodge #1557 of New Smyrna Beach, then Edgewater, Florida for 33 years; Florida Shores Property Owners Association of Edgewater, Florida and The Brannon Center of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was also affiliated with the Council on Aging. Ray was an active volunteer and bodybuilder until his physical abilities began to diminish about 2 years ago. He continued to go to the gym regularly, with assistance, until nearly a year ago. He loved to travel and cruise. Ray was a prolific writer of “Letters to the Editor”, of which many were published in his local newspaper. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Dorita, his daughter, Norma Beatriz of Ypsilanti, Michigan, his son Hector Munk (Ruth) of Vienna, Virginia, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Donations may be made to Hospice and the Elks Lodge, both of Edgewater, Florida
