Obituary
Raymond (Ray) J. DuLong, age 80, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Hospice Care Center after a long struggle with COPD.
Ray was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on December 8, 1942 to William and Anne (Finn) DuLong.
Upon graduating from Lynn English High School, Ray joined the US Navy for aircraft mechanics—a goal he had since a child . He served aboard an aircraft carrier and when he was discharged, he attended East Coast Aero Tech in Bedford, Massachusetts. After graduating, Ray obtained his Airframe and Powerplant License. He was employed by Eastern Airlines, New York Air and Braniff Airlines at Logan Airport, Boston, Massachusetts. Ray was Maintenance Supervisor for Continental Airlines at Tampa International Airport until his retirement in 2004. During that time he was in charge of the transition of Air France from Orly to CDG in Paris, France.
He and his wife, Terri, enjoyed many years of travel together but his fondest memories were those working, living and on holidays in France.
Ray was preceded in death by his son, Shawn DuLong and his parents, William and Anne DuLong.
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Terri. His daughter, Susan (DuLong) Hanlon and son-in-law, Chuck Hanlon of Seabrook, NH. Son, Brian DuLong and wife, Veronique of Tennessee. Seven grandchildren, Chas Hanlon, Eric Hanlon, Julien DuLong, Kaela Hanlon, Forrest DuLong, Sebastien DuLong and Emma DuLong.
Services for Ray are private and will be held at a later date.
He is missed.
