Raymond Maxwell Douglas, Jr. of The Villages, FL passed on to his eternal home on November 1, 2021.
He was born on March 25, 1940 to Vera (Altemus) Douglas and Raymond Maxwell Douglas, Sr. in Indiana, PA. He was predeceased by both parents and his son, Rodney (Bounce) Douglas.
He graduated from United High School in Indiana, PA and was enlisted in the US Army. Ray was a supervisor for R & I Development in New Alexandria, PA until his retirement in 2004.
Ray was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church where he volunteered with Bargains and Blessings. He was proud to have been able to travel to Israel with his church where he was baptized in the Jordan River.
He loved the FL sunshine and was an avid golfer belonging to various golf groups with his friends. He was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.
Ray will be missed by those he left behind. He is survived by his daughter, Melinda (Kevin) Plowman of Greensburg, PA, grandchildren Eric (Kristy) Plowman, Rob (Jenny) Plowman, Lindsay (John) Koch and Bethany Plowman and eight great-grandchildren. Ray is also survived by his brother, Charles “Butch” Douglas of Brush Valley, PA, sister Janet Fordyce of Cottonwood, AZ., nieces and nephews, extended family Jerry (Linda) Puigdomenech, David (Tara) Puigdomenech and sons, of Tampa, FL and the love of his life, his life partner, Tyrina (Ty) London of The Villages, FL.
A private family service will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
