Raymond Robert Wisneski
My husband, Raymond Wisneski, known to many as Whit in his younger years but later most well known as loving husband and Dad – passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2016 after a long, extended illness with kidney cancer.
He was born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1936 but settled in Florida with long term residences in Tallahassee, FL and finally, Central Florida. He was united in marriage to Carolee VanVarenberg in Charleroi, PA in 1964. He and Carolee enjoyed a long, happy marriage of 51 years and have two children as a result of this incredible union. He is survived by his wife Carolee; one son – Steven Wisneski; and one daughter, Diane Anderson and daughter-in-law, Fawn Wisneski. He is also survived by his sister, Beatrice Wichlenski,. He is preceeded in death by his father and mother, John and Stella Wisneski; and three brothers – Robert, Leo, and Benny Wisneski – all of Charleroi, PA. He was blessed with an extended family of in-laws and nieces/nephews throughout Florida and the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy before embarking on a life of love and family. Ray attended drafting school and enjoyed a healthy career as a drafting designer for the construction and manufacturing industries. He was employed by Watkins Constructors and St. Marks Power Plant until his retirement in 2003.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 12:00 pm. The service will be held at Spruce Creek Del Webb Club House. A private, family ceremony will be held for the scattering of ashes at sea.
