Rebecca “Becky” Routh Weddle
Rebecca “Becky” Routh Weddle, 78, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, died at home on September 18, 2024. Born on April 10, 1946, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of Samuel Russel Phillips and Annie Laura Phillips. Becky spent her early years in New York, where she excelled academically, graduating as the valedictorian of her class at Beaver River High School.
Becky went on to earn a master’s degree in accounting from Georgia State University, becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She established her own CPA practice in St. Mary’s, GA, and contributed her expertise to several accounting firms and two Catholic schools after relocating to New Smyrna Beach in 1989.
Becky was a devoted mother who cherished traveling with her children and was a passionate world traveler. She also loved hiking and kayaking with her husband, Dale Weddle. An exceptionally talented pianist, she was active in the First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach. She adored her grandchildren. She will be remembered by all as the kindest person they ever met.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Routh. Becky is survived by her husband, Dale Weddle; her children, Hank Routh and Laura Routh; her grandchildren, Marguerite Routh, Henry Routh, and Samuel Routh; her daughter-in-law, Jane Routh; and her brother, Will Phillips and sister-in-law Dottie Phillips.
A funeral service will be held on October 17th at 10 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach, with a lunch reception to follow.
