Obituary

Mr. Remigio J. Pietrantoni (Reno), 86, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at their apartment in The Willows assisted living Oxford, FL. His loving wife of 60 years was at his side. Reno graduated from Redstone High School, Republic, PA, class of 1949. He was a long time resident of the Detroit, MI area. He completed a millwright apprenticeship with Chrysler Corporation and retired after over 35 years of service on April 30, 1992. Reno was an Army Veteran and served his country playing trumpet with the 98th Army Band at the US ARMY Aviation Center in Fort Rucker, Alabama. His joke was “I got overseas to Fort Rucker, AL without overseas pay, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me, as that is where I met my wife, Sara Margaret Farris.” They were married February 23, 1958. Reno finished his military obligation in June and they returned to Michigan after a 2 week visit with Reno’s family in PA so they could meet the new bride. They moved to Florida in July of 1994 and lived on the historic side of The Villages for 23 years. Reno was often referred to as “the singer,” for his singing at The Veterans Memorial Park, the Kiwanis Club prayer breakfast, service at Chapel of Christian Faith, Connie Waldon’s shows, or his own concerts at The Church on the Square. Reno leaves behind his loving wife Sara; sons, Ronald (Carol) Pietrantoni and Roger; daughter, Sandra (Russell) DeAngelus; granddaughter, Sofia a sister, Tillie Valenta and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held with family and friends on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10 am in The Chapel of Christian Faith. Inurnment will follow at Florida National Cemetery. In liue of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Compassionate Care, 900 Main St., Ste. 208 The Villages, FL 32159.
