We are so saddened to inform of the sudden passing of Renae Ann Flickinger, most recently of Wildwood, Florida, on September 10th, 2022. Renae, known to many as Nae, was born on November 1st, 1956, in Trenton, New Jersey, and spent most of her life in the area. She was predeceased by loving grandparents Anna Rose and George Henry Trehuba, mother Joan Flickinger, aunt Verna “Chicky” Hanuschik, as well as seven beloved cats—Zoei, Oliver, Logan, George, Annie, Jonah, and Shane. She is survived by her sisters Loreen Lomonaco (Bruce) and Lisa Onady (Tom Nelson), cousin Nancy Kintner as well as nephews Brian Lomonaco (Crystal) and Adam Onady, and nieces Erin Onady and Lauren Lucas (Mark), grand nephews Michael and Chase Lomonaco, grandnieces Genevieve and Esme Onady, and cats, Sadie and Sydney. Renae’s lasting legacy is her kindness. She was known for her generosity, her listening ear, and her gentleness with people and animals. She was a lifelong vegetarian and supporter of LGBTQ+ rights. Her sweetness touched many during her years working as Information Technology Director, Family Health Services for the State of New Jersey, the favorite restaurants she frequented, and with her beloved friends and family.

Her celebration of life will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers and in the spirit of Nae’s lifelong devotions, please make a donation in her name to your local animal shelter or LGBTQ+ organization, such as The Mazzoni Center The Trevor Project.

Words could never be put so beautifully as to honor such a wonderful and humble soul. I met Renae at the State of NJ, EIS many years ago. She was such a kind and welcoming human and we instantly connected and became friends who felt more like family. She soon introduced me to Brand and we were like 3 peas in a pod. Everyone there loved Renae’s happy, fun, and witty spirit. Her desk was just FULL of joy, with rainbows and happy faces and MANY photos of her nieces and nephews who she talked about ALL the time with so much love, her cats that she adored, and so many others of her family and friends. I remember her cubicle being COVERED in photos of loved ones and happy/funny phrases. She had silly toys at her desk and every color paper clip, highlighter, post-it or pencil you could ever want! After leaving the State, myself, Nae, Bran, Jakob and Seth and Bonnie would get together often to catch up, frequenting her faves Antonio’s Restaurant or Bartuccis. I am so HONORED to have known Renae. She was ALWAYS so generous, especially with her time and lending a listening ear, no matter what!! She had the biggest heart and love for her family, friends, cats, and all who knew her. I will never forget her impact on me. She told so many stories, some funny, some sad, but overall I just remember being so impressed with the amount of knowledge she had. I would think, gosh every time I see her, I learn something new. That’s just who she was, Renae knew so much about so many different topics. She was one-of-a-kind. I’ll always remember her voicemail from her desk at the State to the one at her home saying “have a better than average day”. If you knew her, you loved her…it was impossible not to. We lost touch over the last couple years but I thought of her often and I wish I had reached out to her more recently. Nae, I love you and thank you for being so remarkable and leaving such an impact on me. May you Rest In Peace always with Aunt Chickie and all the cats in heaven my beautiful friend. ♥️

Rest peacefully in His arms! To this day, I still have the Lennox cross and Bible she gave me back in 2002 after my dad passed. People know it's my car from the cross hanging from my rear view mirror. My sincere condolences to her entire family and friends

Renae was so welcoming when I first joined WIC in 1998! She touched all of us and I truly appreciated her love of cats… we both had a cat named George. She will be missed.

My sweet loving funky cousin will be sorely missed by all. Nae always lived life in her own terms till the very end. I enjoyed so many times of laughter with her over our many years together. And.... my mother had her and her mother had me and we were cousins (that will make her smile up in heaven where I'm sure all her beloved family and pets welcomed her with opened arms).

Renee was truly a bright star on the 4th floor at 50 East State Street. She not only shared her computer expertise with all, but always did so with a radiant smile and a laugh that made the day of everyone who had the good fortune to work with her. Renee has been missed since her retirement but left us with many treasured memories. Her positive outlook on life served as an example to us all. Rest in peace my friend...

Renae was a great friend and confidante. She would listen to anything that I would tell her. When my boys were young she would give them toys, and they called her Auntie Nae Nae. She showed me so many things regarding IT work. She looked out for me when people treated me badly. She was smart, beautiful inside and out, and a true friend. I will miss her tremendously. I will love you forever, and feel truly blessed to have met, come to know, and be able to say that you were my friend, Renae. Enjoy your time in heaven. You're truly home now because you were a real Angel on earth. My condolences to everyone who were able to be apart of the "Renae experience. " I will continue to pray for you to have strenghth to get you through this tremendous loss.
