Obituary
Raymundo “Rene” Medenilla died peacefully on December 26, 2016 in Clermont, Florida at the age of 79.
Rene is survived by his wife Dr. Maria Luisa M. Felipe; his daughter Mary Rose M. Hidalgo with her husband Redemptor and their three children Ryan (and wife Candice), Brandon, and Rachel; his son Joseph “Jay” R. Medenilla with his wife Sara and their two children Maura and Jacob; and a large and loving extended family.
Rene was born on March 9, 1937 in San Narciso, Quezon, Philippines to Mr. and Mrs. Felix V. Medenilla. He graduated from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. He married Maria Luisa in 1963 and subsequently immigrated to the United States with his family in 1972 where he worked for the DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware.
Rene was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always enjoyed sharing his love for fishing, crabbing, boating, and the sea with his family and friends.
A viewing is scheduled for 6:00 PM on December 29, 2016 at the Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society in Tavares, Florida. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rene’s life. A private cremation is scheduled for the following day and his remains will be flown to the Philippines to be interred in Loyola Memorial Park.
