Rev. Jerry William Suhrheinrich, 71, died on October 31, 2014. He was born January 6, 1943 in Evansville, Indiana to Robert and Jeanne (Beeler) Suhrheinrich. Jerry was a minister in the United Church of Christ. He attended Indiana University where he sang with the Singing Hoosiers. He graduated from Elmhurst with his undergraduate degree. He graduated from Eden Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in 1968. His first church was First United Church of Christ in Newton, Kansas. After several years he had a yoked position with Trinity United Church of Christ. While in Kansas he developed a police chaplaincy with Newton Police Department. Also, while in Kansas, volunteered to help direct psychodrama at Prairie View Mental Health Center. Due to health problems, he moved to Evansville in 1975. He became Chaplain at Good Samaritan Home. In 1980, Jerry was called to be minister at Salem United Church of Christ in Darmstadt, IN. He served until 1995. He was a member and Past Master of Evansville Daylight Lodge #752. He was a member and Past Most Wise Master of Scottish Rite in Evansville, IN. He was honored with a 33 degree from Scottish Rite. He was a former member of Hadi Shrine Temple in Evansville, IN where he served as chaplain. He was married to Joy Suhrheinrich. His loving daughters are Suzanne (Dave) Berger and Renee (Clint) Thompson. His grandchildren are Lilly and Meron Thompson and Xander Berger, his brother, Bob Suhrheinrich lives in Tampa. A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 10 A.M. at All Saints Episcopal Church.
