Obituary

Rex Edmond Lusk passed away peacefully on 12/8/24 at the age of 76. Rex battled cancer for over 2 years with the most determination and positivity imaginable. He was an inspiration to everyone blessed to be near him.

Rex led a life full of a vast array of experiences to which many people are never exposed. He had a 7 year stint in the Air Force being involved in many facets of communication traveling to 56 foreign countries. When at home, his love of life continued with pursuits such as driving the Brickyard with NASCAR, being a licensed pilot and holding a 50 ton boat Captain license: he even had an offer to pursue professional bass fishing. Outside his many interests, Rex was proud of his family and a good friend to many. He was robust and vocal. The loss of his presence will be deeply felt.

Rex is survived by his wife Dianne Lusk and six combined children, Todd Lusk, Jason Lusk, Elizabeth Kroner, Wil Lusk, Michael Burney and Matthew Burney.  With combined forces of grandchildren and step grandchildren, he leaves 18 active legacies, ages 5 to 28, spread across five states.

Rex wished to have no funeral or memorial services. His remains will be scattered at a later date at his childhood farm home in Tennessee. We respectfully request any donation be sent to Disabled American Veterans in lieu of flowers.

I can't get my brother off my mind. I really miss him. He had such a kind heart that was much bigger than himself. I am very fortunate to have a real friendship like we had. His heart was much bigger than he was. Friendship is a big word and his was something special that only happens once in a lifetime.
