Obituary

Rhoda P. Bows, 84, of Edgewater died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at home with her family by her side.    Rhoda was born April 27, 1927 in Brockton, Massachusetts.  She and her late husband William Bows moved to this area in 1996 from Plymouth, MA.  Rhoda was proud to be a wife and mother to her three boys as her compassionate and loving manner served them well.  Friends and family knew her for being sensitive to others plights and knowing the right words to reassure them.  Rhoda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in many church activities.  Two of her more passionate activities were quilting and Family Promise.  Before moving to Florida she was also a Sunday school teacher when her boys were young.   Her family will always think of “mom” when having a good cup of coffee, walking on a beautiful beach and when they see a lighthouse shine.  They will know mom is their guiding light.  Rhoda is survived by her three sons,  Chick Luther and his wife, Donna of Norwell, MA, Russell Luther and his wife, Laurie of Fort Myers, FL and David Luther and his wife, Elena of Edgewater; two grandchildren, Joy and Chad Luther and brothers, Royce, Wallace and Charles Kahler.  The family suggests memorial donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 485 Turnbull Bay Road, New Smyrna Beach, 32168. A celebration of life will be held 1:00PM, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Smyrna Beach with Pastor Don Reiter officiating. Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Fl

Hi Steve, thank you for the message. As you say never give up. There is a sootuiln out there. It's case of looking under every rock until you find it. I am sure the inside story is quite unbelievable but you can't tell the story yet. I am sure it's been one hurdle after another. This is just the way human things go when money is at stake and people are under pressure. Someone somewhere will have the sootuiln and everyone as Saab must work to find it. A bit of creative and lateral thinking could work wonders. Saab is a great company with fantastic products and this ultimately means it has value. Someone somewhere will see that value and want a slice of it. Banks and Governments look at things differently and this is the source of some of the problems I am sure. E.g. Richard Branson and Virgin were nearly shut down once because Coutts their bank wanted to pull the plug because of a short term funding problem. But Branson got together some alternative funding and moved his banking. I don't think he's forgiven them even though it was around 20 years ago. I think it's a case of everyone at Saab collectively turning over every rock and exploring every idea until the sootuiln is found.

I knew Rhoda from Trinity Lutheran Church and the quilting group. We had fun together-lots of laughter
and sharing about New England (I'm from Pawtucket, RI) and Swedish food. She had a ready smile and a hug for me. I'll miss her.

Dear Family, I am so very sorry about the loss of your dear loved one. May the thought at Job 33:25 give you comfort in knowing that Mrs. Bows will return to the days of her youth and be able to enjoy life without the infirmities of old age. My sincere condolences to you.
