Obituary
Richard Earl Bartz, 93, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away surrounded by family on January 5, 2025. He was born on November 26, 1931, in Cleveland, OH, to parents Carl and Irma (Walstein) Bartz. He graduated from John Marshall High School and served in the Korean War. He moved to Fort Myers in August 1960 and was instrumental in building many businesses, which included Bartz Mobile Homes (The Sharpest Pencil in Town) and Tamiami Village Mobile Home Park in North Fort Myers. Later in life he enjoyed driving a Lee County school bus, which gave him an opportunity to interact with all the students and teachers. He loved to talk.
Dick was full of life, was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and neighbor. He enjoyed staying active with his family, loved boating and had an incredible memory. He and his wife loved to travel and took many driving trips throughout the United States.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jerry Bartz of Fort Myers, FL; children: Richard Bartz Jr of Cape Coral FL; Linda Bartz Wright of Fort Myers FL; Diana Everman of Austin TX; Shari Bartz of Maitland FL; Gina Thompson of Cape Coral FL; and David Bartz of North Fort Myers, FL; Nine Grandchildren; Ten Great Grandchildren and one brother Kenneth Bartz of Sun City AZ.
A celebration of life will be held in the future when the family can all be together to remember him.
If you were ever at a social gathering with him, you were never a stranger. We still have some of his photographs that he took at family parties.
My condolences to the family and Richard will be remembered and missed.
