Richard Berard Obituary
February 5, 1933 – July 11, 2022
Richard Gilbert Berard, age 89 of Altamonte Springs, Florida, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 11, 2022. He was born to George Leon Berard and Fabienne Angelina Gilbert on February 5, 1933. He was their only child.
On May 16, 1959, Richard married Lucille Elizabeth (Grovine) and together they were the parents of four children, Margaret Mary (Chirchill), Mark Joseph (Berard), Paul Leon (Berard) and Lenore Ann (Stephens).
Richard worked in the Power, Renewable Energy, and Aviation industry as a Components and Electronic Engineer at General Electric in upstate New York and later in Colorado for Storage Technologies and Martin Marietta.
Richard proudly served in and retired from the Naval Reserves.
Richard will always be remembered for his playful smile and his loving nature towards his family. It was evident of his love he had towards the Lord as his Father. He never shied away from speaking the Gospel to everyone he met. And of course crack a joke to make everyone laugh.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Paul Leon Berard. He is survived by his spouse Lucille Elizabeth Berard, and daughters – Margaret Mary (David Chirchill) and Lenore Ann (Robert Stephens), and son – Mark Joseph (Laura Berard), his six (6) grandchildren – Lanee, Justin and Linda Berard, Jacqueline, Noelle and Robyn Stephens, and great granddaughter Maya Berard.
Words cannot express the gratitude our family has towards Orangewood Church. The church has done so much for Richard and Lucille over the years, and we know how much it meant to them to be a part of the Orangewood Community.
We also express our sincere gratitude to Life Care Center of Altamonte Springs – particularly for his Unit Care Nurse, Kaneshia Barnes and her staff nurses Ruth and Will, and the many other caring people for their excellent and compassionate care during his final days.
A memorial service in paying tribute to Richard Berard will be held at Orangewood Church, located at 1300 W Maitland Blvd, Maitland, FL on Saturday, July 30th at 2:30 p.m.
