Richard Cantello of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully, on March 17, 2020, with his loving family by his side. He was 83 years old. Richard was born in New York, New York, on January 16, 1937, to the late Carmello Cantello and Helen (Drobishevich) Cantello.

Richard served honorably in the U.S. Navy during peace time and later in the U.S. Army Reserve. As a fireman for the NYC Fire Department, he was one of the Daily News Fireman of the Month. He enjoyed working out, biking and a yearly vacation with his family.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Kirsten Cantello, granddaughter, Tessa Rose Santagate and grandson, Jason Edward Santagate, all of Cape Coral, Florida; his daughter, Nicole Cantello, son in law, Angelo Artemakis, granddaughter, Lukia Artemakis and grandson, Eli Artemakis, all of Chicago, Illinois; his son, Matthew Cantello, daughter in law, Trish Malone, and grandson, Tristan Cantello, all of Nyack, New York; his sister, Christine Cantello of Middleboro, Vermont and his ex-wife, Rosemary Uzzi.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Burghardt.

Richard will be dearly missed by all.
