Obituary

Richard Franklin Carfore, 84 of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully Saturday, August 18, 2018. He was born May 23, 1934 in Port Huron, MI to the late Frank and I. Madge Carfore. He married his high school sweetheart, Luella Breckon, on August 13, 1951.

His career was focused in his love of cars and worked in various areas of the automotive industry; including manager of Yankee Automotive Center & Auto Color in Port Huron, Michigan. He moved to Valencia, California in 1983 where he owned and operated RFC Overhead Door Company. He retired in 1998 and moved to Cape Coral, Florida.

He is survived by his 4 children; Dennis (Linda) Carfore, Cape Coral, FL; Vicki (Calvin) Nordhagen, Valencia, CA; Cindy (Vernon Halverson) Carfore, Fort Myers, FL; Debra Salyers, Fort Myers Beach, FL; his sister, Betty Middleton, Kimball, MI; sister-in-law, Barbara (John) Barcume, Clinton Twp, MI; brother-in-laws, Robert Sheffler, Kimball, MI and Donald (Sandy) Breckon, Parkville, MO. He also lovingly leaves behind his special 12 grandchildren; Jennifer (Josh) Blanken, Christopher Burrows, Kellie (Jason) Davenport, Carrie (Corey) Martin, Michelle, Danielle, Kimberly and Michael Carfore, Annie and Sam Salyers, Nicole (Jon) Peppetti and Bradley (Warren Oxford) Halverson; 10 great-grandchildren; Harrison and Hunter Blanken, Levi, Tytus, Shiloh Davenport, Malia, Noa, Ezra Martin, Gianna Peppetti, Kyle Oxford; many nieces and nephews; companion, Cheryl Anderson; as well as many friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Luella J. Carfore; his parents, Frank and Madge Carfore; his in-laws, Joseph and Margaret Breckon; his sister, Janet Sheffler; his sister-in-laws, June Crawford, Helen Barrett and Delores Gibson; his brother-in-laws, Robert Breckon, Ronald Breckon, Cecil Crawford, Harold Barrett, Chuck Fogarty and Bill Gibson.

Celebrations of Life will be held in Florida and Michigan; Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 1p – 4p at A Holistic Approach Center, 15971 McGregor Blvd. Fort Myers, FL and Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1p – 4p at Blue Water Convention Center, 800 Harker St., Port Huron, MI.
