Dick was born in Hammond, IN on December 6, 1936, the proud child to Margaret (O’Donnell) and Delmer Crowel and brother to Kae Howell. He was married to his love and late wife, Doris, for 52 years. Dick’s pride and joy was is son Chuck (Dawn) and his grandchildren Jesse and Samantha (Austin).
Dick was a very loyal man. He dedicated 42+ years working for ABB; he loved watching the Hartford Whalers as a 20+ year season ticket holder and was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing in his retirement with his friends at the Legends Golf and Country Club. Dick’s favorite vacation spot was Aruba with Doris and friends laughing with drink in hand having the time of his life.
Dick was the ultimate sports dad and fan of Chuck’s. He coached Chuck’s youth teams growing up as well as he was Chuck’s biggest supporter. A perfect memory of Chuck’s was looking up in the stands seeing Dick rooting him on at a Wednesday night college hockey game more than two hours from his home. Dick was an also an outstanding member of the Windsor, CT community coaching even after Chuck was off to college and always being involved in the Kiwanis Club he loved so much.
Dick was an Army veteran and will be joining Doris at Sarasota National Cemetery where he will be presented with full military honors.

Our hearts are breaking for you. He will be truly missed when we come to Fort Myers and Rick will miss his phone calls to get advise on his fantasy golf teams. So glad he got to spend the time in Indiana and the campground he enjoyed so much with mom.
Sending our love,
Rick and Mary Kae
