Obituary

Richard (Dick) Goggin, 85, of the Villages, FL, passed away at Cornerstone Hospice on December 7, 2017 surrounded by family.Richard was born in Brighton, Massachusetts,  on January 27, 1932 to Harold and Linda (Beltram) Goggin. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1950 where he was a superb athlete in all sports. He was drafted by the New York Yankees. Later he served in Korea during the final push and patrolled the demilitarized zone.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Carol, his daughter, Christine White, grandsons  Richard and Thomas and ex-son-in-law Bruce all of North Attleboro. He lived in Massachusetts for many years where he raised his family and was a business owner and real estate broker.  He and Carol wintered in St. Augustine, Florida for twelve years and decided to move to the Villages permanently in 2006 where he played many rounds of golf. He was an avid lover of animals and wouldn’t even hurt a fly.  He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and a deeply religious Roman Catholic. “If I could do it over again, there’s only one thing I’d change. I’d have found you sooner so I could love you longer. Because for me, each day that we were together, each day that our hearts held on to each other was a better day than the one before my darling husband.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Baldwin Brothers.  Services will be announced at a later time at Florida National Cemetery.
