Obituary

Richard E. Manchester, 74, of Ormond By The Sea died Monday, May 4, 2009 at his home with his family by his side.   Mr. Manchester was born July 31, 1934 in Providence, RI.  He moved to this area in 1995 from Warwick, RI and attended the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach.  Mr. Manchester was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #251 and enjoyed watching the Red Sox’s, any baseball game and NASCAR.  He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Christine; devoted children, Richard, James, David and Lori Pascone all of Warwick, RI, Kristen Couitt of Seekonk, Mass and Michael Bennett of Douglas, Mass; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren and three brothers, Fred, Robert and Thomas.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia-Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, 32129.  A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held at 4:00PM, Friday, May 10, 2009 at the Hospice of Volusia-Flagler Care Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange.

    Richard was the kind of man who you were always happy to see and one whom you will never forget. He came in often to where I work and he always brought a smile and a good story. He enjoyed his job, his life, and especially his wife and family. We will miss his visits greatly and send our condolences to his entire family.
