Richard Hanson Gaither, Sr, passed away peacefully in his home on September 25, 2018, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on March 28, 1949 in Washington D.C. He was born to Mr. Richard Magaha Gaither and Mrs. Pearl Bailey Gaither. Rick enjoyed Nascar Racing, Short track Racing(dirt & asphalt), built and drove his own racecars, fishing, gambling, and spending time with his Kids and Grandchildren. He grew up in Huntingtown, Maryland with his four sisters and one brother. He made a living by being a heavy equipment operator, owning and operating a tow truck company, and a car service shop while in Maryland. Married Ms. Patricia Darlene Crozier in 1975, had 4 children, and has been in Florida since 1984. He made a living by working in a body shop, then moving up to supervisor of home construction for Belmont Homes with his wife of 33 years, Darlene Gaither as a realtor. He is predeceased by his Wife, his brother(William Franklin), his Mother, and his Father. He is survived by all four sisters; Linda Lee, Rebel Star, Samantha Ann, and Pearl Romona. His four children all of New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater; Rick Jr., Bill, James, and Brittany Gaither. His six Grandchildren; Jordan, Brandon, Eric, Jacob Gaither, Nicolas, and Allison Pepe.
