 Richard was born in Saratoga Spring N.Y.
From Judge Richard J. Sherman SR. 32 Degree Mason and Alice M. Sigsby Sherman
WW II Veteran of the 84th Infantry Division Rail-Splitters
He was in the Battle of the Bulge
Wounded and received the Purple Heart.
Attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a
Bachelors Degree in Physics
Decorated track athlete and was one of the Wounded Five
Married Delores Ingborg Lindemann
He worked at the Navel Research Laboratory near Washington D.C.
Cited for research in Laser’s, Liquid Crystals and Ferrites
Motel owner in Carlsbad NM
Attended Rollins College, Winter Park FL with a
Masters Degree in Education
Taught mathematics at Sanford Navel Academy, Sanford FL
He also was a Paper Carrier for the Orlando Sentinel for 20 years before retiring.
He was a family man, Episcopalian
  He is survived by his sister Alice Stroup, Saratoga Springs NY, Sons Richard J. Sherman III, Westcliffe, CO, Laurence Scott Sherman, Orlando FL and Daughter Lisa Marie Mitcherson, Seminole FL.
Memorial services will be at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on April 10 2014 at 12:00 noon.

    I am sorry that you lost your dad. I was very glad that he came to my dad's funeral in Saratoga and I was able to get to know him a little. I liked him very much. He was a very interesting man.
