Obituary

Richard Allen Jepsen, 77, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in
New Smyrna Beach, FL succumbing suddenly to an illness that was the result
of, and diagnosed just days earlier, as late stage lung cancer.
Born June 10th, 1941 to parents Helen Pauline Jepsen and Gudmund Jepsen in
Penn Yan, NY. He was a stubborn Dane to then end, never letting on how he
felt and being gracious and joking with his doctors and nurses right up to
end, a testament to his kind and generous personality. His last days
were also marked with happy memories of growing up in Penn Yan, life on
his farm on Havens Corners Road and his time working at P&C.
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Kiersten (John)
Custis of Altamonte Springs, son, Jason (Tuneeshaw) Jepsen of York, SC,
sisters, Linda (Tom) Starsmore of Webster, NY and Joan (Chris) Johnson of
Holley, NY, grandchildren Molly Custis and Jensen Custis and several
cousins, nieces and nephews, including Erika (Shawn) Morse. He is
predeceased by his wife Maureen Quenan Jepsen who passed away in 2016.
There will be a Florida memorial service on September 23rd in Port Orange,
FL and a private family burial in Bellona, New York. We are also planning
on an open invitation /informal get together and Celebration of Life on
October 13th in Penn Yan, location to be announced.
