    Dear Vickie and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Lewis, as we called him all those years ago at WMU, was the absolute best boss I ever had -- and I've had lots of bosses over the decades! My youth and professional inexperience didn't prevent him from entrusting me with responsibility far beyond my proven abilities, and as a result, I gained skills and confidence I would have never have gotten otherwise. His low-key, rational, and good-humored approach to "managing" people in that little operation (at the time) has been my go-to model in every professional setting I have found myself in since those very early days. I am so glad to have have known and worked for/with Dick Lewis, and my heart goes out to you and your family. He was a wonderful man.
