Richard E. McGahey passed away quietly of natural causes at the age of 89 in his home in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine McGahey, of Orlando, daughter Wendie Oberste (Fred) of Orlando, son Mark McGahey (Frost) of Silver City, New Mexico, son Kim McGahey (Lee) of Breckenridge, Colorado, brother, K. Grant McGahey of Gaithersburg, Maryland, sister, Norma Backstrom, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, and grandsons Conor McGahey, Grant McGahey, Aaron Oberste, and Tyler Oberste. Richard was preceded in death by his twin brother, Roger McGahey, and his granddaughter, Colleen McGahey. The immediate family will hold private memorial services in Orlando to remember the love and laughter Rich brought to his family and friends during a lifetime of smiling humor, tireless family devotion, and personal commitment to the many friendships he enjoyed.
