Richard R. (Dick) Pence passed away peacefully January 28, 2018. Dick was born October 17, 1941 in Valley Falls, Kansas and moved to The Villages from Rock Island, Il. In 2004.  He retired from the Department of Defense at the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, Rock Island, Il. March 20, 1996 where he worked in the procurement sector.  He was Chief of the Weapons Division.  Dick enjoyed volunteering, running, golfing and clowning around as a member of the local clown Alley 179.  He was also a friend of Bill W and served in the Vietnam conflict as a Naval Corpsman.

Survivors include his wife Linda, The Villages, FL; daughter, Lisa of Davenport, Iowa; son, Bradley of Chicago, IL; grandson, Adyn of Chicago, Il; granddaughter, Lexia Manske of Silvas, IL; nieces, Cherrie Noll of Oskaloosa, KS, Nancy Smith and Alice Bertles of Topeka, KS, Mary Dazies of Lebo, KS, JoAnn Verhaeghe and Tom Reynolds of Kansas City, KS, Ken Reynolds of Monumet, CO and John Reynolds of Denver, CO.

A memorial service will be given at New Covenant United Methodist Church chapel.  Baldwin Brothers Funeral services.  Internment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Jefferson County Kansas.  Memorials in memory of Dick can be sent to any of the following:  New Covenant United Methodist Church, Youth Group or Care Office 3470 Woodridge Drive The Villages, FL 32162,
