Obituary

After 39 adventurous years on this earth Richie has moved on to his very own Lantern in the Sky. He was an energetic, fun loving soul who left a lasting impression on everyone he touched. His beautiful smile and bright baby blue eyes will forever watch over us. Richie was a dearly loved husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. As an active member of the community, Richie requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice 4220 S. Ridgewood Ave Edgewater FL 32141, The Ryan Foundation or your local Humane Society.

Richie- I'm so saddened to hear about your passing but I know you're bringing some extra fun to wherever your beautiful soul travels. You were my best friend since first grade. I will never forget making toilet paper dresses for
My babies and fighting other boys to protect you. Thanks for the great childhood
Memories. I'm so glad we were able to "find" each other as adults and catch up. I'm so sorry to your family and those closest to you. Thanks for the fun times, forever in my heart.

"Chard" was my student in the on-the-job training program at New Smyrna Beach High School during his junior & senior years. The students and I all loved him and his first year the seniors took him in as their little brother. Chard made everybody happy & lit up the classroom the moment he walked through the door. He was very artistic and had a fabulous sense of humor. From the previous posts from loving family & friends, I see that upon graduation Ritchie had a fulfilling life. I join you in your heartbreak upon his loss from this earth, which was made better by his presence.

    My Dearest Best Friend Chard,

Though the loss of you is temporary it hurts like it's forever. From the moment we met in college we both knew we'd be the best friends anyone ever had. We carried that friendship for so many years.

Together we always had each other: to dance with (though your dance card was always full), to sing with (though I never got the words right...
"mmm mmmh secret !" ((Madonna)). We always had each other, to laugh with, to confide in, and to experiment on each other's hair and faces (five second facials with Sea Breeze and a slap,"looks good you each get 1 facial credit"). We had each other to experience everything new and exciting life had to offer, ...and lastly we always had each other to cry with. This last part is what I need the most from you right now.

Ya see Chard, there are so many of us completely devastated over the loss of you. We all need you to be "here" with us! We need you to comfort us and hold our hands as we cry and pour our hearts out for you... You left us this way because we all loved you so much, and because you loved all of us so much...

This truly and profoundly hurts buddy; but, in a million years I wouldn't change a single moment we spent together and I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for being the brightest part of my life! I will always love you and I longingly look forward to being with you again. . .

Remember we are those two beams of light that connected from that silly heartfelt poem I wrote you so many years ago. :.-)

I love you for infinity and beyond. Your radiant internal light sparkled from your eyes and beamed in your smile. Your heart was as wide as the ocean. I was your teacher you became my Guru. Your shining more brilliantly then ever in the sky. And honey your going to make a FABULOUS ANGEL !

Rich, where do we begin? You brought so much laughter into our lives throughout the years. You had a way with words and your famous smile. In your teen years there were times you would make us so angry from something you had done and before we knew it, you had us smiling and some how what you had done seemed so trivial. You will always be in our hearts. Your Mom is right. Your star shines the brightest of all the stars. We love you and miss you.

My sweet baby brother. I lay here and watch your signs: your star in the sky, your reflection in the mirror shining back at me, that smile, that laugh....there is no doubt that I miss you and will continue to miss you. Continue your work in the sky and watch over me. Help me remember to be the best person I can be and to always remember that everyone has a story and their own personal struggle. I shall not judge, but always be kind. I love you so much that it hurts!!!

Thank you for everything! Teaching me to feel the world not just live in it. My heart hurts but I get some comfort knowing I got to enjoy this journey with you and to be there as you start your next one. I love you 'poop' and always will!! Say hi to Orion!
