Obituary
Richard Rocco, 70, of Port Orange, FL, passed away on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022, at Halifax Hospital, Daytona Beach, FL after a brief period of declining health.
Richard is survived by his wife of 49 ½ years, Linda; their children, Nathan (Kristin) Rocco, Elizabeth (Mark) Melanson, Rachel (Scott) Bullock, and Kevin Stateham. Grandchildren, Giavanna and Antonella Rocco, Ryan and Nathan Melanson, Katelyn (Joe) Guillotte, Joshua and Karley Bullock, Carol and Jason Stateham; Great Grandson Vincent Guillotte; and a sibling, William (Sue) Rocco, Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents, William, Sr., and Anna Rocco. He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren, great grandson, nieces, and nephews.
Richard was born on October 21,1951, in Worcester, MA. He served in the United States Air Force and was employed by the City of Worcester for 34 years at Belmont Home, Street Department and Water Department, retiring in 2010 and moving to Florida in 2013 enjoying sunshine, new friendships and visits with children, grandchildren, and friends.
His family and friends will always remember him as a hardworking, selfless, and generous person who loved vacationing with grandchildren – especially to Disney World and, most recently, pickleball with friends at Crane Lakes.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Port Orange Fire Rescue team and Halifax Hospital ER for their compassionate care. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
