Richard D. Verost
Richard D. Verost passed away peacefully on Aug 31, 2021 at Advent Health Hospital,
Daytona Beach, FL after a 3-week battle with Covid-19.
He was born in Jamestown, NY on Feb. 5 1945, moving to Orlando, FL in 1958. He graduated
from culinary school in New York City. Richard owned several apartments and was owner and
operator of Ziggy’s Bar and Grill in South Daytona. He was a chef’s chef.
He enjoyed collecting autographed movie star photos for over 60 years. He was an avid Gardner.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, John E. Verost and Sue M. (Olosky) Verost. He will be missed
by his many friends.
Richard is survived by his sister, MaryAnn Eaton (Larry), Port Orange, FL, brothers, Robert J. Verost,
(Joyce Goldston), Orlando, FL and Edward Verost of Cassellberry, FL. Also surviving are 2 nephews,
David and Rob Verost and niece, Tina Walden (Billy) and his best friend, Alicija Wesolowska, who came
from Poland to be in the US. He is survived by his two loving dogs, Lucy and Ricky.
